MotoGP 2006 YTD

If you know MotoGP, then I'm sure you know that American Nicky Hayden is leading the world championship standings heading into the home GP at Laguna Seca next week. This is big news! If you are even the least bit a fan of any form of racing, you should try to watch the RED BULL U.S. GRAND PRIX on July 21-23, 2006.

If you have not yet seen the last race (Sachsenring/Germany), then I urge you to watch it now, before you know the result. It is one of the most exciting races of the season - and this is a season that has already had at least one of the most exciting races in MotoGP history. (And MotoGP is one of the most exciting forms of motorsports. The racing is always close and very intense.)

If you don't have a DVR (or better yet, SageTV) and access to Speed TV, then watch the German GP here for about US$5. While you are at it, watch the Italian GP as well if you haven't seen it. That was a great race!

BTW, I assume you know that Nicky won the Dutch GP.

So, who is going to win the US GP? I would love to see an all-out battle between Nicky and Rossi. We can assume Rossi will be better than last year, when he was top European, but only 3rd overall. If Rossi and Nicky have an epic battle for the entire race (what a dream that would be to watch!), I suspect Rossi might be the better of the two in the final laps, although I would love to see Nicky win at Laguna Seca again this year.
